Description: Rare B series of Jules Steiner, circa 1880. She has a perfect pressed bisque socket head, antique mohair wig over a cork pate, beautiful blue glass paperweight eyes, pierced ears and softly smiling open mouth with molded upper and lower porcelain teeth. Jointed composition Steiner body with original finish. I think this is a lovely example of this rare series. Her smile is charming, not “scary” as some of the B series.
Clothing: She is beautifully dressed in a ruby red and burgundy couturier costume of silk and velvet with antique undergarments, and French antique leather shoes with socks. She wears particularly lovely antique red glass earrings.
Marks: Figure B J Steiner Bte SgDg, Paris
Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs to bisque. Restrung body with original finish. Working mama-papa crier.
