This spunky young girl has a bisque socket head, stunning blue glass paperweight eyes, skillfully painted lashes and brows, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, a blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Her bisque head is perfect with no flaws or restorations of any kind. The finish of her body is original.Excellent condition, original body and body finish, antique burgundy silk dress, undergarments, leather shoes, and a perky French straw hat. Her dress looks to be factory and has some of the melting effect that plagues antique silk. Her socks are the same color with age related fading from the bright burgundy. Despite this it displays well. I value original costumes highly and expect some age-related damage to the fabric. I bought the antique hat years ago and think it is a perfect finish to her costume. She has pierced ears and garnet earrings.
Marks: Phenix *88 (head) Le Petit Parisien Bte SGDG Paris (body). Jules Steiner, circa 1890. She is a beautiful example with finest bisque and a lovely antique silk costume.
